Our first mix of many, straight from our shop crates to you!

Although we’ve been updating the site regularly with new and used tunes, it’s been too long since we’ve posted on our page but we’re changing that as of today. With the intent to expose new sounds to our new and regular customers, we’ll be making this a monthly feature and serving a mix out of records that have been coming in to the shop. Everything you hear is available in our webstore for you to purchase.

It’s easy to note that the heavy downpour and the holidays this month influenced my selections so expect songs about rain, make ups and break ups along some favorite shop selections. Dig in, tune out and enjoy:

We’re back!

After a long digital hiatus, we spent some time away from the shop to finally get the website up and running and we relaunched with some of the best records we’ve caught digging this past Summer. Did I say FREE shipping on all orders over $100?

Thank You

Hard to believe that it’s been 2 years since we opened our doors in Long Beach and we are incredibly thankful for your support.

New merch hitting the site this Saturday along with a small stack of records hitting the digital bins, stay tuned.

Alex’s Bar Nite + Raw Mix

We’ve been having the pleasure to be taking over the decks over at Alex’s Bar out here in Long Beach a few months ago and tonite! I was trying to find a way to share the kind of sounds played out throughout these nites at Alex’s, specially for those who can’t make it out, and the most proper way to do it was by an good ole’ fashioned mix.

As soon as i got to hitting the record button, i noticed my laptop was dying. I had the options of going home for a charger and coming back, possibly in a less motivated self, or finding the next thing i could record this mix on. Opted for the second option, plugged my phone on the janky live-stream rig and hit record. As raw as it can get, heres 46 minutes of soudns directly from some of the most played-out records in my dj box.

Enjoy, and see you tonite!

Now Open To The Public!

It’s been a funky year so far, but we’re happy to announce that the shop is back open to the public from Friday to Sunday at a limited capacity! We’ve been buying records all through out our closure and have been restocking the bins heavily. Check last week’s drop:

For those who can’t make it in, we relaunched our web shop and continue to offer free shipping on orders over $25 as well as in-store pick up!

“What’s this?”

If you’ve ever come down to our shop to dig and found a few odd and unfamiliar records that you had questions about, don’t be surprised if we simply replied with a shrug. It’s hard to say or even star to describe what we carry in the shop, but aside from all the classic go-to titles and easy sellers, we like taking chances on records that we might not be so familiar with, too. It might be intimidating for some, but the world of unknown is what keeps some of us asking for more and endless days of digging.

A few weeks ago, we had the pleasure of having Clifton come down to pick up some records. We love Clifton, because he’s the kind of guy that will answer his own questions on these records with quick, rapid-fire-style listening session and whittle down his stack of records to what he wants, and what just won’t work for him. Here’s a quick mix Clifton put together of 14 records that worked for him this evening (tracklist below). Enjoy, and happy digging.

1. Johnny Jones & The Casuals – Soul Poppin’

2. Round Robin – Do The Slauson

3. Shaine – Call Me Sweet Things

4. Los Wawanco – Grito De Cumbia

5. Adolfo Echeverria Y La Gran Banda – Amaneciendo
